Description

In these notes Hazard describes a visit to London in 1878-1879, and his subsequent visit to Milverton in Somerset, or as Hazard names it, "Somersetshire." He describes distant relatives and his visit to a Marble Tablet in the Washfield Church dedicated to the mother of Jane D. Gibson, whom he describes as one of his Mother's Relatives. Photographs of the church (interior and exterior) as well as the tablet are part of the James P. Hazard papers and are available in Digital Collections.
