Abstract

Common emotions that are experienced within the substance use population are regret, shame, and guilt and they can be a major deterrent of behavior change and improvement of quality of life. Emotion regulation skills help reduce the vulnerability to intense negative emotions in order to improve self view and live a more fulfilling life.
