Burnout among nurses is a growing concern in healthcare. Characterized by an increase in emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced personal accomplishment, burnout negatively impacts a nurses’ well-being, patient outcomes, and retention in the workplace. This project explores the effectiveness of yoga as a holistic intervention to reduce burnout in emergency department nurses. Grounded in Maslach’s Burnout Theory and supported by current literature, the project involves a six- to eight-week structured yoga program. The program aims to improve emotional regulation, promote self-care, and foster a culture of wellness. Anticipated outcomes include decreased burnout scores, improved mood, increased personal accomplishment, and enhanced job satisfaction. Organizational support, including administrative buy-in and flexible scheduling, is critical to feasibility. If successful, this intervention could serve as an evidence-based model for integrating non-pharmacologic stress reduction strategy into nursing practice. The findings may inform hospital policies, support the development of wellness programs, and contribute to improved nurse retention and patient care quality.
