Porto Grande is one of Cape Verde's vital ports. This photograph shows vessels on the docks of Porto Grande, which is located in the Bay of Mindelo. During the 1960s and early 1970s the docks had become unable to handle modern vessels, but modernization efforts attempted to revitalize the port as a center for bunkering and transhipment.
