The reverse of this image is dated "The Wanderer New Bedford Whaler, W.E.S, 1920." The photograph is a detail of the bow "The Wanderer," a whaling bark that was one of the last built in Mattapoisett Shipyard in Massachusetts. It was completed around 1880 and retired in 1924.
