Undated. Printed in France. Inscribed on front by artist: "unfinished statue to be cut in marble", "N. Elizabeth Prophet", "[Poverty crossed out] Prayer". This sculpture depicts a female nude in contrapposto. This was the first piece Prophet made after moving from Paris to Montparnasse. (Finkelman, 997) Originally titled, "Poverty"(1926), Prophet changed the title to "Prayer" at an unknown date.
