Fishing boats on the beach in São Pedro and a fishing village. Outside of the airport, which is connected to Mindelo by a major road, most of São Pedro, like this scene, is not accessible by automobile and is made up of small fishing villages which have a tradition and relationship with the sea that is distinct from land-based residents.
