View from atop the mountains near Calhau, a fishing villages on the eastern shore of São Vicente. In the valley is the road that connects Calhau to Mindelo, about 15 km east. The road follows the Ribeira do Calhau, one of the islands only streams, which is almost completely dry excepting in the rainy season.
